Popular trot singer Kim Ho Joong was recently involved in a drunk-driving accident, and despite being implicated in it, he has decided to move forward with his concerts.
Kim finished his May 18 concert in Changwon and plans to do the second show on May 19 as a part of his Trot Baritone Classic Arena Tour 2024. This has come as a shocker to many as Kim stands accused of a serious DUI incident that occurred on May 9 in Gangnam, Seoul. The singer allegedly collided with a taxi and fled the scene without taking any measures.
On the 18th, during his concert, Kim addressed the situation on stage, assuring fans that the truth would be revealed. He expressed his intention to cooperate with the investigation. Though the singer admitted to visiting a bar that night, he denied the allegations of drunk driving despite the National Forensic Service’s analysis finding otherwise.
The investigation was initially opened as a DUI case but has now been expanded to suspicions of an organized attempt by Kim’s label, Saenggak Entertainment, to cover up his crime. You can read more about it here.
