NewJeans' Fans Accuse HYBE Of Purposely Sabotaging The Girls Under The Guise Of "New Management"

On September 2, 2024, NewJeans fans were dismayed to discover that all the videos from Ban Heesoo‘s YouTube channel had been removed. The channel, which was part of the “Ditto” storyline, featured Ban Heesoo as a representation of the fandom. Following the change in management after CEO Min Hee Jin‘s departure, the videos were deleted.

What made things worse was that the new policies from the company ended up deterring Dolphiners Films from working with the girls. This meant that future projects were all scrapped. Dolphiners Films created iconic works such as “Ditto,” “ETA,” and “Cool With You” for NewJeans. Director Shin Woo Seok, who heads Dolphiners Films, stated through Instagram that the team would be unable to continue to work with ADOR and subsequently, the girls.

As such, fans have called out HYBE and founder Bang Si Hyuk for intentionally sabotaging the girls.

“Ditto” was one of their most popular songs in the mainstream. The channel was also absolutely non-profit on Dolphiners Films part, leaving fans baffled as to why the company would request for its deletion.

The character Ban Hee Soo is also integral in NewJeans’ lore. The name is a play on the fandom name Bunnies, thus making the character a representation of fans.
