Former IZ*ONE member and actress Kang Hyewon recently revealed her extreme weight drop while filming Friendly Rivalry, a GL (girls love) show that also stars Hyeri.
On February 7, KST, Hyewon appeared as a special guest on Hyeri’s popular YouTube show, Hyell’s Club, to promote their upcoming K-Drama.
During their conversation, Hyeri mentioned Hyewon’s character, Yeri, and asked if Hyewon related to her in any way while filming. She responded by revealing that her character had an obsession with dieting, which coincidentally linked up well with her low body weight during the filming.
Hyewon explained that while shooting Friendly Rivalry, she was at her lowest body weight. Hyeri agreed, recalling, “One day, I grabbed Yeri’s arm, and it felt like a chicken bone!”
Hyewon also shared that Hyeri would often joke about it, making bone-clicking sounds whenever she saw her. “It seriously felt like I could just snap it like a wooden chopstick,” Hyeri added.
But more than her skinny arms, what surprised Hyeri was how contrasting her figure was compared to her eating habits. “But the amazing thing is, she eats so well,” she affirmed.
Despite having such a good appetite, Hyewon dropped her weight to a mere 37kg for the role of Yeri!
