Because K-Pop groups have so many members with different personalities, several have admitted to fighting behind closed doors—with their words or fists. A veteran group that’s lasted over twenty years even revealed that fighting was important for staying together.
However, one group took it much further by getting caught fighting in public.
During episode sixteen of Jaejoong‘s Jaefriends, SHINHWA‘s Lee Minwoo appeared as the guest star and addressed a rumor about his legendary group. Jaejoong mentioned rumors of SHINHWA getting into physical fights, which Minwoo immediately confirmed. To prove it, Minwoo shared the time they got caught fighting in public.
Minwoo recalled an incident where SHINHWA’s rehearsal suddenly took a violent turn. He said, “We were at rehearsal, and I heard someone get hit. They were fighting in public.”
Since they were a well-known group fighting in public, the rest of the members quickly “took them off stage.”
He revealed the reason for one member punched another in public. Making everyone laugh, Minwoo explained, “One member burped, and the other didn’t like it.”
Because the reaction seems blown out of proportion, Minwoo and Jaejoong gave context on how “sensitive” idols are at early morning rehearsals.
Despite only two members fighting, all of SHINHWA was “in big trouble” for their public fistfight.
Listen to the veteran singer talk about the public fight that got SHINHWA punished by their company.
