You read that right. Disney censored BTS in BTS: PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LA.
After much speculation, it was announced in July that Disney and BTS had partnered for multiple projects. This includes In the SOOP: Friendcation, BTS: PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LA, and BTS MONUMENTS: BEYOND THE STAR.

BTS: PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LA is a concert experience film that documented BTS’s four-day concerts from November 27-28, 2021, at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Those who had attended PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LA in-person recognized that some great moments had been edited or cut. This can often happen due to fitting what directors or editors deem an appropriate time.

Still, what was most shocking was that Disney apparently censored BTS, especially RM, more than once.
In one moment, J-Hope instructs ARMYs on when to raise their ARMY Bombs. RM adds, “It’s easy as hell,” but the captions read “easy as pie.”

Likewise, even Jungkook‘s “Hell yeah” was edited in the subtitles on Disney+.

Additionally, during “IDOL,” RM famously shouted, “Put your motherf*cking hands up!” In this case, the caption just omitted the profanity.

The film is only TV-PG, and considering BTS’s fanbase includes those of all ages, it makes sense to censor the F word. Otherwise, the film would be rated PG-13 or even R depending on the number of times it’s used.
What is questionable, though, is that the language is only censored in the captions/subtitles. You can still hear RM say both “hell” and “f*ck.”

Not only that, but Disney+ is not exclusively for kids. It contains many profanity-laced movies and TV shows, such as Deadpool and Daredevil.
So, ARMYs are finding amusement in Disney’s strange choice of censorship.
