Soloist Jeon Somi recently made her highly-anticipated comeback, and to promote her new mini-album, Game Plan, she was a guest on Jo Hyun Ah‘s YouTube show, Thursday Night.
When the popular group I.O.I disbanded in 2017, all eyes were on the talented former members to see what they would do next, including maknae Somi.
In 2018, Somi left JYP Entertainment, where she was formerly a trainee, further increasing the buzz around her future promotions.
That same year, she officially joined THE BLACK LABEL, a subsidiary of YG Entertainment, and officially debuted as a solo artist on June 13, 2019.
Before searching for and signing with the label, Somi shared with Jo Hyun Ah that she visited a fortune teller who predicted she would sign with a company that fits THE BLACK LABEL’s description.
The fortune teller told her she would find a company that was neither a Korean nor foreign company. They instead suggested that a company that was “between the two” would be a good fit for her.
She later went to THE BLACK LABEL and realized the company fit the fortune teller’s description of the label that would suit her, piquing her interest.
Somi described THE BLACK LABEL as somewhere between a Korean and a foreign company, matching what the fortune teller had predicted, so she was immediately drawn to it.
The talented soloist then signed with the company, and the rest is history!
This isn’t the first time Somi has opened up about the reasons she signed with THE BLACK LABEL. Check out more on that in the article below:
