BTS‘s leader, RM, celebrated his 30th birthday on September 12 with a meaningful philanthropic gesture.
On his birthday, the BTS member donated a whopping ₩100 million KRW (about $ 74,700 USD) to the “Everyone’s Veterans Dream” fund in support of the “Uniformed Service Appreciation Campaign” organized by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs. RM’s contribution will help to support and honor veterans and their families.
In his official statement about the donation, RM mentioned that while serving in the military himself, he had realized the dedication soldiers put into protecting the country and bringing peace.
Lately, I have personally felt the dedication of many people to our country on the field. I hope that this small contribution can be of help to all the heroes who are dedicating themselves to the country even at this very moment, as well as to those who have worked hard for peace. I am also sincerely grateful to the ARMY fans who always shower me with overflowing love and congratulations.

This donation continues the longstanding tradition of RM making significant contributions to different philanthropic causes. Last year, he made headlines for donating ₩100 million KRW (about $ 74,700 USD) to the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Overseas Cultural Heritage Foundation to preserve, restore, and utilize Korean cultural assets located in major museums and art galleries worldwide. Notably, his donation brought back a Joseon-era Hwarot to South Korea in 2022. Read more about it here.
