Soloist eaJ (also known as DAY6ās Jae) recently guested on the Zach Sang Show to promote his upcoming EP When The Rain Stops.
The last time eaJ guested on the show, he was introduced as a member of DAY6. So, Zach Sang inquired about eaJās feelings since departing the group, including his regrets.
š¤ I didn’t introduce you as that last time you were here
š„yeah i was mmā¦ Jae of DAY6
š¤ two different people?
š„ i dunno, I feel like at the core they’re the same human
š„ but probably just different types of ways of certain things
š„ just similar but different https://t.co/MXUtRdLIMn pic.twitter.com/9TcW130rd9ā šŖššš šš š“šš šŖ“ (@mwday6) September 12, 2024
Zach Sang asked eaJ, āWhy would people blame you for anything?āĀ EaJ explained that many people felt that he was contributing a lot of drama to DAY6. He admitted he made mistakes, āI think itās like a lot of people were upset that I was bringing a lot of drama to like the group with like me being outspoken about a ton of things and, honestly, once again, I did make a lot of mistakes separate of that, and I felt bad for those things.āĀ
One of eaJās new songs is titled āi just want my 20s back.ā He revealed itās about multiple people, but it seems mainly about how he felt that he gave up his 20s for his career, only for it to be erased, as it appears he has been written out of DAY6 history.
It hurts because I see people trying to erase me from the history of that band when Iāve written a lot of the songs. Yeah, Iāve spent my 20s there ā¦ and now Iām just being erased, and like I respect them fully, and I truly genuinely wish them the best, and they are going to be on top of the world, and they kind of already are theyāre doing amazing. Ā ā¦I donāt know if I have the right to say this, but Iām like really proud of themā¦

He was later asked, āHave the K-Pop community ā¦ forgiven you, or do you think some of them have still turned their back on you?ā EaJ feels that he is disliked by the K-Pop community. He explained that he was mentally stuck at 18 for a while, immature, and angry, and he regrets how he behaved during his scandals.
I was very angry, at not anyone but like the label and the entity that was the chain of command that I was in ā¦ The more that I think about it these days Iām starting to realize more and more that I projected that anger to people that were in specific situations where I was already angry from something, and I donāt think they deserve that. ā¦I was just a little immature. ā¦There were other factors. ā¦ Iām not trying to make excuses for myself I just think I could have done things a lot betterā¦

Yet, eaJ confessed that the hate comments bother him. He tries to ignore them, but they still affect him.
I just saw a comment yesterday that was like so there was this weird rumor going around I donāt know I donāt know where it came from because Iāve never said anything along those lines, but it was like, āOh, Jae is gonna Jae is rumored to come back to DAY6, which is absolutely not true and I just read a comment saying ā¦ āGet that ugly monkey out of here or something like thatā ā¦ Iām just like, āWhat did I do to you?ā
Iāve been doing this for like 12 years right, and Iāve seen my fair share of hate comments and like cancel trains and all that ā¦ Itās hard for me ā¦ Iāve learned to an extent to try to ignore it and be like, you know, Ā thereās always going to be someone that hates you and even if I say that out loud it just kind of hurts when I see stuff like thatā¦

When DAY6ās eighth EP Fourever was released, it divided the fandom. Many felt the title was shading eaJ. Now, eaJ has revealed his true feelings. He confessed, āIt kind of hurt.āĀ
I understandā¦ itās like they had like this whole analysis and the story behind it, but I mean, like, in my head, itās hard for me to like watch any DAY6 stuff just ācause, like, I donāt know, it reminds me a lot of stuff. For a long time, it was hard for me to even go back to Korea ācause like every time I landed like there was this feeling of like anxiety and just unsettlementā¦
ā eaJ
EaJ emphasized that he doesnāt feel the band is responsible for this and still truly wishes them the best. However, he thinks that someone in the label wants to erase him from DAY6ās history, which fans have previously noticed, as he has even been cropped out of images. It hurts since he spent so much time promoting them to the best of his abilities, writing songs, etc.
My gut reaction was that ā¦ It felt like someoneā¦ I donāt think itās the bandā¦ but someone was trying to erase me out of the history of that, and it hurts because ā¦ I literally gave up my career in Korea for that team, I fought ā¦ to promote however I could, and now that Iām gone theyāre trying to erase all that, but I understand. ā¦I feel like there was never any closure for them on that side and thatās not to the band members thatās to more to the I think the label, and if thatās the closure that they need, then I guess so be it, but itās still going to hurt a little bitā¦
