A senior broadcaster has stepped forward with her own experience of workplace difficulties at MBC following the tragic news regarding Oh Yoanna. Park Eun Ji — who worked as an MBC weather presenter from 2005 to 2012 — shared her thoughts on social media about the ongoing workplace harassment case.
Park, now 42, responded to news of Oh Yoanna’s passing by sharing that she too faced challenging situations during her time at the network.
The former weathercaster, who now lives in the US with her Korean American spouse, mentioned she had never met Oh personally but felt deeply affected by the news. Park shared her regret at not being able to offer support while calling for more attention to workplace harassment issues in broadcasting.
As a former MBC weathercaster, my heart feels incredibly heavy. I never met her, but I truly hope she is no longer in pain. My deepest condolences.
I endured and endured through those brutal seven years, so I know. I know how terrifying and lonely that suffering is. I’m so sorry that I couldn’t be of any help.
The deep-rooted culture of workplace harassment must now be fully exposed.

During her time at MBC, Park established herself as one of the main weather presenters before choosing to work independently in 2012. She later expanded her career into various entertainment programs and dramas before relocating to America following her marriage in 2018.
Her comments come as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding Oh Yoanna’s passing. Park suggested that it’s time for a thorough examination of workplace culture, particularly regarding harassment issues.
