A TV Daily report cited sources inside the music industry while stating that the E-6 visa of Hanni, who holds dual citizenship in Australia and Vietnam, already expired this month. As a result, she is no longer allowed to carry out entertainment activities in Korea. The situation has been complicated by her group’s ongoing legal feud with ADOR, which has rendered her unable to sign with a new agency.
Regardless of the situation, ADOR had reportedly prepared all the necessary documents to extend her visa but Hanni herself refused to sign them. When media outlets reached out to ADOR for confirmation, they replied, “We cannot confirm anything regarding questions about Hanni’s visa.”
After announcing their contract terminations with ADOR in November last year, NewJeans recently rebranded as NJZ. The group is set to participate in a Hong Kong concert this March and will also release a new song in Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, the news of Hanni’s visa expiring was leaked to the media in December 2024, after which the member was anonymously reported as an illegal immigrant. The Investigation Division of the Seoul Immigration Office under the Ministry of Justice even promised a probe into the matter. You can read more about it here:
