We’re only two months into 2025, but several K-Pop idols have already made headlines for dating rumors. Here’s a recap:
1. BTS’s J-Hope and TWICE’s Nayeon
Recently, a TikTok that compiled “evidence” J-Hope and Nayeon’s rumored relationship went viral. The video gives examples of the idols being in the same place at the same time, starting in 2022. This includes dining at the same restaurant, taking photos in the same outdoor location, and more.
The most recent “evidence” is these so-called couple photos that were taken in January 2025.
2. IU and Lee Jong Suk
IU and actor Lee Jong Suk have been in a public relationship since 2022, but rumor has it that these celebs are no longer an item.
Chinese netizens shared screenshots on the social media platform Weibo, claiming that they had found proof of the couple’s breakup. The rumored breakup became a hot topic on Weibo, but so far no official statements about the couple’s current relationship status have been released.
It seems like IU and Lee Jong Suk broke up?! Netizens discovered that IU is wearing her ring on her index finger, which means the person is single in Korea. Their relationship was exposed in 2022, so it’s been a few years!
3. (G)I-DLE’s Shuhua and NCT’s Hendery
Rumors circulated about these two idols after they were spotted dining together at a restaurant, supposedly on the same day as an NCT member’s birthday. Although Shuhua and Hendery were at the restaurant as part of a group, some netizens saw this social outing as a sign that the two idols were dating.
4. RIIZE’s Wonbin and aespa’s Giselle
In January, these two idols, who were previously caught up in dating rumors, were subject to new dating rumors, thanks to netizens zeroing in on new “proof.” with fans finding alleged “couple items.” Netizens pointed out that Wonbin and Giselle had used similar words and phrasing in recent comments and messages to fans.
For example, Wonbin used “algejji“–an informal Korean word to make it sound cuter–in place of “algetji“. Giselle used the same word on her Dear. U Bubble.
5. BLACKPINK’s Rosé and Jaden Smith
BLACKPINK Rosé‘s dating history became a hot topic after the release of her solo album, rosie, and the title song “toxic till the end”. Rosé shared that the song, which explores a “toxic” relationship and heartache, is based on her own personal experience.
Unsurprisingly, netizens went looking for Rosé’s toxic ex. Some thought her ex-boyfriend might be American star Jaden Smith. Through the years, he and his sibling, Willow Smith, have been spotted with BLACKPINK at events, such as Coachella.
During a lie detector interview with Vanity Fair, Rosé put these dating rumors to rest. She confirmed that Jaden was not her toxic ex, and that the two of them have never been romantically involved.
