Idols dating each other is not unusual. For people with busy schedules, the only person who may understand is another star.
On the other hand, it has been rare for idols to date within their group, at least openly. This does not just include groups of the same sex but also co-ed ones, like KARD, who have expressed their sibling-like relationship on more than one occasion.
However, a co-ed group once debuted a couple that was already together at the time.
In 2019, a new label called Z-Pop Dream announced its plans to debut Pan-Asian idol groups featuring members from India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, Taiwan, and Vietnam. The project, which was a unique concept at the time, attracted much interest.

The two groups were split into male and female units, Z-Boys and Z-Girls, however, they were referred to as Z-Stars a collective whole. As Z-Stars, the two groups debuted with “Our Galaxy” and also used this group name for the album release.
The Indonesian members of the group, Vanya and Mavin, were active before joining debuting in Z-Stars, including running a YouTube channel together.
A video filmed in 2018 featuring a challenge where a girlfriend does her boyfriend’s make-up confirmed their relationship, though they are believed to have been together since 2016.
Both Z-Boys and Z-Girls released singles in 2019, before heading into a period of inactivity.
In October 2019, however, during an update video shared on their channel, the two announced that they were no longer together, in order to focus on their activities with each group.
However, following the continued inactivity, both Vanya and Mavin officially left the project in 2023. These days, it seems both have continued performing, each sharing clips from either performances or dance covers.
Relationship wise, Mavin recently updated with a video featuring his girlfriend, whom he says he has been with since 2020.
