Two years ago, a Japanese man in his forties went viral for his jaw-dropping transformation into a woman half his age as part of his otokonoko lifestyle.
Otokonoko (“male daughter” or “male girl”) is a Japanese term for men who have a culturally feminine gender expression or indulge in cross-dressing. This form of self-expression, which took off in manga and internet culture in the 2000s, harkens back to earlier traditions, such as male actors playing female roles in kabuki theater.

Kana lost over 60 kgs (132 lbs), going from weighing 115 kgs (253 lbs) to 54 kgs (119 lbs). Even his shoe size shrank from 29 cm to 27 cm.
