Actress Kang Myung Joo has tragically passed away after battling cancer. She was 54 years old.

The actress passed on the 27th, as announced by her daughter, actress Park Se Young. Her mortuary has been set up at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital Funeral Home, and her funeral is scheduled for March 2.
In the post announcing her passing, Park Se Young asked that her mother’s moments on stage be remembered.

Mom left on a long journey yesterday afternoon. I would be grateful if you could remember the moments on stage that actor Kand Myung Joo loved and shined in.

Kang Myung Joo, who debuted in 1992, was primarily a theater actor. Even throughout her battle with cancer, she continued working and recently appeared in the productions of Sweat, Bea, and 20th Century Blues.
Many are familiar with the actress from her appearance in Extraordinary Attorney Woo, where she played a judge and left a strong impression.
