While Jung Hae In is winning hearts with his rom-com character in the ongoing K-Drama Love Next Door, his movie, Veteran 2, is also enjoying box-office success.
The movie, released on September 13, KST, in theaters across South Korea, is the second installment of the Veteran series, released nine years after the first one.
Within just six days of its release, the movie attracted over four million viewers, a rare feat. According to the data from the Korean Film Council’s integrated ticketing system, by 9 AM on September 18, KST, Veteran 2 had surpassed 4,001,565 viewers. In an even more impressive feat, the movie attracted a footfall of one million in just a day after hitting the three million mark, crossing four million on the last day of the Chuseok holiday.
To put this achievement in perspective, the first Veteran movie achieved four million viewers in nine days. By achieving the same number of viewers within its first six days, the second film has achieved the break-even point.
Jung Hae In, along with his co-actors from Veteran 2, Hwang Jung Min and Shin Seung Hwan, thanked audiences through a video for this milestone achievement.
Meanwhile, Veteran 2 is an action crime movie that depicts the story of a young detective Park Sun Woo (Jung Hae In) pursuin a serial killer after joining the violent crime investigation unit of a veteran detective.
