GOT7‘s stylist is facing criticism following the group’s recent concerts.

From January 31 to February 2, GOT7 held three nights of concerts, their first in several years. Fans were thrilled to see the group return to activities together after focusing on their solo careers for an extended time.

The group wore different outfits for each show, but one from the second night of concerts has gone viral for the wrong reason.
During one segment of the concert, GOT7 wore white, red, and black colored outfits on stage.

However, some online noticed details of Jinyoung and Yugyeom’s outfits. Jinyoung and Yugyeom‘s jackets featured the Greek letters ΔΣΘ, which belong to the historically African-America sorority, or social club, Delta Sigma Theta. The numbers 1913 also correspond to the year the sorority was founded.

Sororities and fraternities’ letters are usually only worn by members, with usage by non-members extremely looked down upon. This tradition led to a Black comedian, Kevin Fredericks, sharing a clip of Jinyoung in the jacket with the caption “He ain’t no delta!”
Many outside the K-Pop fandom spectrum reacted negatively, expressing shock over the letters being worn.
Fans of K-Pop and others also chimed in, commenting on how the stylist likely picked out random items without knowing the meaning and gave them to the group to wear.
Like other circumstances, it seems many wish for stylists to do a bit more research before dressing their idols.
