Following an emotional interview from her grieving father, IVE sent a memorial wreath to honor their young fan, Kim Ha Neul, who tragically lost her life in the recent Daejeon school murder.
The eight-year-old victim’s father shared heartbreaking memories of his daughter’s dedication to IVE member Jang Wonyoung.
Speaking to reports following the shocking murder, Kium’s father painted a picture of a child whose daily life revolved around her favorite idol. He described how his daughter would never miss an opportunity to watch Wonyoung on television, often “negotiating” with her younger sibling for control of the TV whenever the star made an appearance.
She would ask for anything related to Jang Wonyoung. No matter what show it was, if Jang Wonyoung appeared, she had to watch it. Even if it meant staying up late, she never missed a live broadcast. Even if her younger sibling wanted to watch Pororo, she insisted on watching Jang Wonyoung instead. Every item she owned, every gift she received—it was all about Jang Wonyoung.

When speaking about Wonyoung, the bereaved father made an emotional appeal to the members of IVE, hoping that Wonyoung might offer a final farewell to his daughter.
If any members of IVE happen to see this. It would mean so much if Jang Wonyoung could say a warm goodbye to our Ha Neul as she makes her way.

It seems like the members did listen to his request, as reporters who attended the wake noticed a wreath from IVE close to little Ha Neul’s memorial picture. An AsiaE report also mentions that a cherished Wonyoung photocard was among the victim’s memorial items.
