In her latest interview, IVE‘s Wonyoung talked about how she honestly felt about her fame.

Wonyoung is arguably one of the most popular Korean celebrities today, with nearly six years spent in the industry as an idol. At just 20, she is not only a part of a fourth-gen powerhouse girl group but also the face of multiple global brands, including BVLGARI, Miu Miu, and Samsung.
This explosive popularity, which has only grown since Wonyoung debuted as a 14-year-old with IZ*ONE, often tends to come with its constraints. In her latest interview with Vogue Korea, the idol was asked about it, and she responded with an unexpected perspective.
Wonyoung graced the covers of Vogue Korea’s March 2025 issue, and the pictorial featured an insightful interview with the idol. When the topic of fame and its burden came up, she replied that people’s interest in her and her life had never weighed on her mind.
Interviewer: Do you feel burdened to be under the spotlight? So many people are curious about Jang Wonyoung.
Wonyoung: It might sound heavy when you put it like that, but actually, I don’t think of it that way when I’m working.
Wonyoung continued, expressing her love for her work, “I just do what I like, and people happen to watch. So, I don’t feel burdened.”
Throughout the interview, Wonyoung’s answers reflected the same mindset toward her work, insisting and reassuring that none of the personal aspects of her life were negatively impacted by it. When asked if there was a difference between the version of hers that fans wanted to see and the one she herself wanted to become, Wonyoung denied that she was in any such dilemma.
There’s not much difference. I fully believe that our Dives will like me in whichever way I want to express myself.

The idol also stated that working hard only made resting enjoyable for her. “Work sweetens my rest. When I get to take a vacation and rest now and then, I feel really happy.”
With this kind of work ethic and mindset, it’s no wonder that Wonyoung has been dubbed a “born idol!”
