BTS Suga’s DUI Case: A Full Breakdown
Amid the latest developments in the case, including new (and real) CCTV footage from DongA Ilbo and an apology from JTBC for the previous fake CCTV footage, the BTS fandom remains fiercely divided.
And those calling for Suga’s withdrawal from the group, represented by an X (former Twitter) account @idoitsueit, have sent protest trucks on two different routes around Seoul.
As of August 16, 2024 (KST), the trucks have been spotted along the routes posted to the X account.
Route 1: Roadside in front of HYBE – Roadside in front of NINE ONE HANNAM – Yongsan Station/Seoul Station – Hongdae – Hapjeong – Sangam – In front of The Hyundai Yeouido – Back to HYBE
Route 2: Roadside in front of HYBE – Roadside in front of NINE ONE HANNAM – Seongsu – Keonkuk University Station – Jamsil – Samsung Station – Gangnam Station – Banpo Bus Terminal – Back to HYBE
Some of the protest truck messages read:
Left: “Told His Fans To Be Confident, Came Back To Them With A DUI”
Right: “Drunk Driver Suga, D-Day To Leave The Group Is Today”
“7-1=6. ARMYs Will Complete The Group. Drunk Driver Suga OUT.”
“Kick Suga Out of BTS. We Do Not Need A Criminal Who Deceives Fans. #RootForBTSSugaWithdrawing”
“Suga, Leave The Group On Your Own Will Before Things Get Uglier. #DrunkDrivingCriminal_SugaWithdrawal”
According to @idoitsueit, a second round of protest trucks has also been secured through a fundraiser.
We have reached the target amount for the fundraiser and have closed it. Thank you to everyone who participated in the campaign, even though it was kept private.
Starting tomorrow, the truck and the flower wreath campaigns will take place together. During the campaigns, we’ll have a staff managing the flower wreaths, and the trucks will be circulating around the bustling areas of Seoul even on the weekend. We appreciate your interest and support!

Before the protest trucks, protest wreaths were sent for set up in front of HYBE. Both trucks and wreaths have become staples in K-Pop fandoms as means of expressing their demands and asking for action.
In response, YTN did mention in a since-deleted report that HYBE stated its plan to apologize and make concerted efforts to mend the rift within the fandom. Read more about the report here:
